Employee Health Screening Process

All Roanoke Public Library employees are required to take their temperature at home before reporting to work at the library.

  • Library Director will report to Library Board President and Library Assistant….
  • Library Assistant will report to Library Director…
    • Their status if they have…
      • a fever
      • a cough
      • other symptoms of COVID-19
    • They will not report to work if they are feeling unwell or have symptoms.
Enhanced Cleaning

Library Materials

  • Library materials will be quarantined for 72 hours when returned by a patron
  • After the quarantine period, materials will be returned to the shelves or requested by another patron.

Frequently Used Services

  • All frequently used areas will be cleaned with 70% alcohol after each transaction
  • Keyboards will be covered with plastic seal, changed after each visitor
  • Mice will be enclosed in plastic bags, changed after each visitor
Compliance with Social Distancing
  • All library employees will maintain a 6 ft. distance at all times
  • All appointments will be spaced out so no contact with other visitors.
Personal Hygiene/Ability to Wash Hands
  • All library employees are required to wear masks when in contact with visitors.
  • All library employees may wear gloves when handling materials.
  • All library employees are required to practice frequent handwashing.
  • Staff will request that visitor wear masks
